Four decades of engineering,
one official representation.

Shop Engenharia was founded in 1982 in Porto Alegre, serving operations that run at scale: mining companies, ports, steel mills, cement plants and large agro-industrial facilities. That is more than forty years designing, executing and maintaining electrical, hydraulic, insulated-panel and structural engineering inside the client plant.

In 2026 the company took a strategic step and became the sole official DMC Technology representative in Brazil, bringing to the country the conveyor belt monitoring and inspection systems used by mining, port and steel operations in several countries.

Shop arrives with both halves: the manufacturer technology and the track record of a company that has already worked inside the plant.

Two 3D rip detection systems
going into a mine in Brazil.

On September 8 the DMC installation team started mounting two 3D belt rip monitoring systems on two conveyor belts at an open-pit mine in Brazil. The job was expected to take three days.

In the article, DMC thanks the mine team for support with site access, equipment logistics and installation arrangements.

The two systems will let the mine monitor belt damage in real time and reduce the risk of unexpected conveyor belt failures.

The partnership that redefined what we do

As the official DMC Technology representative in Brazil, Shop Engenharia brings to the country 3D, X-ray and laser conveyor belt monitoring systems. It is technology used by the largest players in global mining, now with local technical support and nationwide deployment.

Two channels,
the same event.

CH-01 · visual
Photograph of a longitudinal tear on the surface of a conveyor belt
CH-02 · TDIS 3D
3D point-cloud reconstruction of the same tear, generated by the TDIS system

A longitudinal rip starts at two millimetres. On the visual channel it is only a shadow on the rubber, and by the time the operator sees it, the belt has already torn.

On the TDIS channel the same defect arrives measured: depth, width, position on the belt and a time stamp. It is filed in the plant history, with an image.

That is what separates finding the fault during downtime from scheduling the replacement while the line keeps running.

3D longitudinal rip scanning

Continuous 3D laser scanning of the belt surface. It detects longitudinal rips and surface damage before they become catastrophic failure, and records a full digital history for traceability.

Who we serve:
operations that cannot stop.

Where the conveyor belt is a critical asset and one hour of downtime costs more than the whole system, inspection has to be continuous. That is Shop's client.

Mining and pelletising

Long-distance belts carrying raw and processed ore, 24 hours a day in an abrasive environment.

Ports and terminals

Dry bulk handling at port terminals, with short maintenance windows and high cargo turnover.

Steel and metallurgy

Continuous transport of raw material and coke, under heat and load that punish the belt carcass.

Cement plants

Aggregates and clinker in continuous duty, where a stopped belt stops the whole kiln.

Agribusiness and private terminals

High-volume grain and fertiliser handling, with harvest peaks that leave no room for corrective maintenance.

General industry

Plants that depend on continuous conveying and need the same inspection rigour as mining.

Shop has always looked after me very well. Competent professionals and excellent solutions. I recommend them.
